CAPITAL CRIME LAUNCHES DIGITAL FESTIVAL

Capital Crime is pleased to announce the launch of its innovative, year-round digital festival, featuring an initial line-up of more than 50 authors.

London, 14th January 2019 - Capital Crime is pleased to announce the launch of its digital festival, which can be found at www.capitalcrime.digital. The digital festival is a showcase of some of the best crime and thriller writing talent in the world and offers readers an innovative way to connect with their favourite authors or discover new ones.

Capital Crime co-founder Adam Hamdy said, ‘The Capital Crime Digital Festival is packed with fascinating video content. It features authors talking about themselves and their work, writing tips and book recommendations.’

Multi-million copy, international bestselling author Mark Edwards said, ‘I met lots of happy and enthusiastic readers at Capital Crime 2019, but it’s great that people who weren’t able to make it in person are able to experience the festival via this brilliant initiative.’

Available worldwide and free to view, the Digital Festival offers readers who can’t come to Capital Crime the opportunity to get a taste of the live festival experience. The video content is portable, meaning authors can freely embed it on their own websites and social media.

Capital Crime co-founder David Headley said, ‘We’re excited to launch the Capital Crime Digital Festival. It gives authors a powerful permanent platform to promote themselves and their work, and is available to readers all over the world.’

Capital Crime 2019 debut author Victoria Selman said, ‘Capital Crime 2019 was a triumph. I’m delighted to be part of the Digital Festival where I’ll be sharing my key influences, advice for aspiring authors and a few things you may never have guessed about me, along with a whole host of other crime and thriller writers.’

Capital Crime festival manager Lizzie Curle said, ‘Capital Crime has put innovation at the heart of its mission. From our Readers’ Awards voting platform to our New Voices Award technology, we’re determined to be at the forefront of change. The Capital Crime Digital Festival is part of this focus on innovation.’

The second Capital Crime will take place on the 1st to 3rd of October 2020. We’re expecting over 1,600 people to attend the festival and can host a maximum of 1,200 fans per day. The UK’s largest independent bookshop, Goldsboro Books, will be our official bookseller, making a selection of hardback or paperbacks available from each of our attending authors.
