Near-fine first edition, with slight push-in to top and bottom of spine. Two pages in the middle of the book have been miscut/misbound, leaving them slightly less wide than the rest of the pages. In a fair price-clipped dust jacket, with a large chip missing from the back cover, which has been filled in with tape. Long strips of repair tape run along the top and bottom edges of the jacket's reverse side. Small tear to front cover, and wear throughout.

A teenage murder witness is drowned in a tub of apples...At a Hallowe'en party, Joyce - a hostile thirteen-year-old - boasts that she once witnessed a murder. When no-one believes her, she storms off home. But within hours her body is found, still in the house, drowned in an apple-bobbing tub. That night, Hercule Poirot is called in to find the 'evil presence'. But first he must establish whether he is looking for a murderer or a double-murderer...
