Book condition

A very good first edition, in the original binding. Some wear to the top and bottom of spine, and there is a slight indentation on the top of the back cover. There is foxing on all sides of the page block, some of which has begun to seep onto the pages themselves. There is a previous owner's ex libris plate attached to the inside of the front cover. In a fair price-clipped dust jacket, with chips to the top and bottom of the spine, wear along all edges, and a repaired tear to the front cover near the spine.

About

When George, Viscount Uffenham turns the entire family fortune into diamonds and squirrels them away, naturally he forgets where he has hidden the loot and finds himself compelled to let the family seat to stay afloat. So it is that Mrs Cork’s health colony comes into being, providing the perfect setting for crime and young love to flower.
