A very good first edition in the original binding. There is a crease to the front flyleaf, and a smaller crease to the half title page. Some minor push-in to the top and bottom of spine. In a good unclipped dust jacket, with chipping to the spine and wear to the corners. The top rear corner has a small tear, and there are two small tears to the top of the back cover. There is also a small red stain near the bottom of the rear cover.
The matchless detective and psychoanalyst Mrs Bradley is visiting the picturesque village of Spey in search of a local witch when Gerald Conway, a junior master at Spey College, is found murdered. Despised by both pupils and peers, there is no shortage of suspects but can the redoubtable Mrs Bradley use tact, wit and just a touch of black magic to make the boys and their masters divulge the truth?
