An early work of C. S. Forester, written before his well known Hornblower series of books. This book details a motorboat holiday taken by C. S. Forester and his wife. It contains 39 photographs taken of the scenery and of Mr. and Mrs. Forester.

About the Author

C. S. Forester

Cecil Louis Troughton Smith, born 1899, known by his pen name Cecil Scott "C.S." Forester, was an English novelist known for writing tales of naval warfare, such as the 12-book Horatio Hornblower series, depicting a Royal Navy officer during the Napoleonic wars.


The Hornblower novels A Ship of the Line and Flying Colours were jointly awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction in 1938. His other works include The African Queen, filmed by the legendary John Houston.

    A good quality first edition, in the publisher's red cloth. There is some wear to the cover, particularly on the spine. One page of photographs has slipped loose of the binding, but is still with the book.
